Getting Started
Lesson Information
After a parent/guardian enquires about starting lessons, I will send a message to their phone number via WhatsApp to arrange a quick call. This serves the purpose of touching base, answering any questions that you may have as well as to organise the first lesson. Once we’ve agreed a suitable time I will send a link for the Zoom Meeting for our first lesson.
The First Lesson
I’d recommend for the parent to be present with the student at the beginning of the first lesson if possible. In the past I’ve found this eases the student into the lesson and gives the parent the time to get to know me and of course to answer any questions that they may have in relation to future lessons.
What you’ll need for Every Lesson
All lessons take place through Zoom, only the free version is needed by the student for our lessons. A working camera and microphone are necessary for the student to have for every lesson. When possible, students should be in a quiet room with little to no distractions.
Rescheduling Lessons
Occasionally, for whatever reason, you can not make a scheduled lesson. No worries! Rescheduling a lesson for another time during the week/following week can always be arranged without any issues. I’m aware that students have many other commitments than their lessons.
However, this will require notice; at least 2 hours before the start of the scheduled lesson. If less than 2 hours of notice or a complete no-show occurs, half the lesson’s price will be reimbursed to you but no catch-up lesson will be owed to you by the tutor, so remember to stay organised!
